The concert : a film by Radu Mihaileanu starring Mélanie Laurent.
This film is just amazing. It’s a combination of humour and suffering that we see in the eyes of the characters. The orchestra comes from Russia but some of them speak Fench but their French is hilarious in a good way. When the russians talk to French people. French words are not used properly which give some funny combinations like : « Je vous baise chaleureusement » actually meaning « I’m having sex with you warmly ». The characters don’t hold back. They say all the things that they carry deep within their heart even if they must go through a violent argument with each other to make themselves clear. Nothing is left unsaid. Eventually everybody feels relieved afterwards. As a spectator, the genuine dialogue between the characters moves us deeply. They don’t hesitate to laugh about themselves, they know their faults thus becoming both disrupting and engaging people. A silent flow of tender feelings is noticeable between Andrei Filipov and his wife and even more particularly in the relation with his orchestra fellows.
Finally, what we get is a refreshing and hilarious movie which warms us a little within and that is good enough already.
